My friend KJ once pointed out to me that there is a difference between being nice and being kind.
Kindness is choosing the awkwardness of the truth over the ease of a lie.
Nice is saying “Let me know if there’s anything I can do”. Kindness is asking “How can I help?”
Nice takes breath, kindness takes courage.
And yet as His Holiness the DL says, kindness is always possible.
